Re: American Birth Control League On Wednesday, July 20, one of the employees of the American Birth Control League called to ask our opinion about the following matter: a co-operative league somewhere on 16th Street which buys products and then sells them to its members is desirous of buying contraceptive products and selling them to its members by mail or across the counter in its New York shop. I advised the League that sales and mailing of contraceptives except upon the prescription or direction of physicians was illegal under both State and Federal law. H.F.P Noted A.L.
