Acknowledgements

Our class appreciates all who participated in the development of Honoring Their Legacies: Case Studies in Community Impact throughout the semester. The staff and faculty members at several libraries and archival locations at the University of Texas at Austin and beyond provided us with invaluable support, allowing our class to engage directly with primary sources that illuminate histories long excluded from the mainstream record. We would like to thank Dr. Elon Lang for creating the intellectual environment that made this research possible, and Elise Nacca for her support and guidance throughout the semester. Additionally, we would like to thank Elise Nacca, Head of Information Literacy Services, UT Libraries, Margaret Schlankey from the Dolph Briscoe Center, A. Johnson from the LLILAS Benson Collection, and Dr. Eric Colleary Curator at the Harry Ransom Center for sharing their expertise. We would also like to thank the Harry Ransom Center, the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History, the Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection, the University of Texas Libraries System, the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, and the Austin History Center for allowing us and others access to material that would otherwise remain inaccessible.
