You are doubtless aware that the capital of the certificates of liquidation iSsued by the French government is mearly nominal, the amount of the certificates being based upon the amount of indemnity previously agreed upon between the two governments viz. One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Millions of francs. The first fifth part of which has been distributed at the time, and as to the remaining One Hundred and Twenty Millions of francs, it was by virtue of the treaty of 1838, reduced to the sum of Sixty Millions of francs, payable in Thirty anuities.
The first five fixed annually at 1.500.000 fr
The next five “ “ 1.600.000 “
The “ “ “ 1.700.000 “

The “ “ “ 2.400.000 “
The “ “ “ 3.000.000 “
It is of the first four annuities of 1.500.000 each that we give you notice today, each of which making one per cent on the nominal capital of your certificate for 2963.68.
