Conclusion
Thank you for viewing Snapshots: Community Networks and Media Ephemerality. This exhibit aimed to bring awareness to silenced stories through print media and art, highlighting the connection of the ephemerality of these works to the non-majority community networks that created them. These featured items of non-majority communities host ranging dimensionality and representation, and there is power in engaging with them. Though some pieces may appear relatively small in the grand scheme of visual art and advocacy, each item within this exhibit contributes to the formulation of media ephemerality. It is crucial that we continuously bring light to snapshots of non-majority networks. The ways in which minority communities interact and build interpersonal legacies are being innovated in new creative manifestations each day. Whether through media of protest, visual art, or print media, these 20th century pieces highlight underrepresented aspects of culture and history. This exhibit only showcases a “snapshot” of the creativity that lies within minority communities and we encourage you to explore such networks within other spaces.
