Palabras Pegadas y Tinta Desde La Tierra: 21st Century Zines by Latin@ Artists from Texas focuses on two zines created by Latin@ writers from Texas: Chifladazine by Cloud Cardona and Muchacha Fanzine by Daisy Salinas. While zines (short for magazines) as a form of expression have roots dating back to the 1930s and 40s, they became more mainstream in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, largely in feminist, queer, and activist communities (Creasap). 

These two zines in particular focus on Latin@ culture, feminist ideology, queerness, and decolonization among other political and cultural ideas, all expressed through art, prose, poetry, drawings, and collages. Additionally, this collection contains transcriptions of interviews with the creators of these two zines, who share a bit more about their background and thoughts on how zines can contribute to revolutionary, radical, counterculture movements as an expression of intersectional activism through the written word and artwork.
